Better nights, ready for Friday

The nights have gotten better. Mya has been sleeping through the night without any problems. However, her appetite has degraded. We are giving her two cans of formula during the night to ensure her weight remains stable. Today, we took her to Boston for an ultrasound. Because she has had a total of four lines placed in her over the course of her treatments, they wanted to see the condition and location of the artery they are targeting to use for her port. It was a quick test, and things are looking good.

Mya's procedures are on Friday with a start time of 7:30 am. She'll get a Botox shot for her eye first, the port will be done, and finally the Mickey will be completed. If everything goes well, she will be home the same day. Mya's MRI has been moved up. It was 5/28/14. Now it's 5/7/14. We are really keen on doing this sooner than later. If something has changed dramatically, we want to know about it as soon as we can. Maybe we need to do different chemo drugs, maybe we can do a short series of radiation sessions on her spine... All possibilities.

So, tomorrow is slated as a quiet low-key day. Then Procedure Friday. Then recovery. The Mickey won't take hardly any time to recover from. The port will probably take a few weeks. We are hoping that by the beginning of May, she will be well on her way to being ready for a pool!!

I'll make a quick post maybe Friday night to let everyone know how the day of procedures went. Thank you to all for the continued well-wishes!!
