Christmas party & Christmas cards

Well, we did Session 2 & 3 this past week. We are getting a rhythm down, when to leave, best parking option, etc. Mya is doing pretty good with the treatments, but she understands now that when she goes into the room, she will be put to sleep. She begged Ray yesterday, "No, no I don't want to do this anymore!!" It is so hard to do this over & over to your child. Especially when they are aware of what is coming...(sedation, procedures, etc)

But, we get to come home each day. That is definitely the big plus. Having the weekends off are also great. Since we didn't have to do a treatment today, we went to a friends house for a Christmas Party! This is the 1st time Mya's left the house for anything but a hospital visit, since Thanksgiving night. She did great! Started the day with walking from her room to the living room! It was so great to see! Around noontime, we went over. She didn't walk much when we were there, she mostly sat on the couch. But it was wonderful to see her out of the house and with the other children. She had a bite or two of a meatball, which was great to see. We stayed until 3:30 or so, then headed home.

Once we got home, Mya wanted to go through all the cards that she has gotten through the mail. She must have opened at least 30 cards!! I told her she didn't have to do all of them at once, but she wanted to do every single one. We got cards from Alabama, Ohio, Florida, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, & Maine. We thank everyone for their well wishes, Christmas cards, and even handmade cards. All of them are wonderful!!

After our full day, Mya was tired, so we got her ready for bed. We were supposed to have a visit from the Fire Department & Santa for tomorrow, but due to a snowstorm they had to cancel. The truck needs to be available for an emergency that may occur. I think it will be a nice, quiet day. Which is good. This week, 5 sessions, Monday-Friday. Let's hope they continue to go well...
