Getting Closer to Going Home?

Well Saturday was a pretty good day. Mya's ANC went to 220 and she didn't have a fever. She definitely had her spark back! I asked if she wanted to go to the playroom and she said yes! So, I had the nurse help us with the IV stand, but Mya WALKED the whole way there! Once in the room, we played with the train set, the kitchen set, and the bowling set. We spent about 40 minutes in the room. Then, she seemed to get tired. I asked her if she was ready to go back to her room and she said ok. She WALKED the entire way back! This achievement is very significant because Mya hasn't walked at all the entire time we have been in the hospital this time. Physical Therapy has been talking with us about how important it is that we push Mya on her activity. So, a pretty big day!

We are getting closer to being able to go home. One of the last requirements we need to achieve is to have Mya being able to tolerate her liquid feeds (formula). As of yesterday, she is still getting sick from too much in her belly. So, that's the new goal. To try to get the formual in her and STAY in her, so she can come off the IV food and we can maintain her weight at home with the liquid formula through her G-tube.

I'm going today with my mom to look at a furniture set for Mya's room. All the painting is complete, just need the furniture. Hopefully, this particular set will work well!

After work tomorrow, I will relieve Ray in Boston so he can get some sleep and log in some work time too! Here's to hoping that the Boston marathon tomorrow won't put too much of a crimp in our plans! Will post again soon...
