Good check up, good energy

Ray took Mya down to Dana Farber yesterday for a check up. They looked her over and re-taped her IV on her arm. They did the blood panel and her ANC is 790. Not awesome, but enough to keep us out of the hospital. They said that Mya is low on platelets and a little low on her red blood cells, but they didn't want to give her anything. They want to let her body take care of itself. They don't want to continue to "prop" her up. They want to give her body time to heal itself. So, after being weighed (she's at 13.6 kilos, not bad, but not awesome), Ray & Mya were sent home.

All of us are enjoying the time that we are spending together. Ray & I have been working hard this week to catch up on all the things we have been putting off. I've gone through all of Mya's clothes. I had to go out and buy a summer wardrobe for her because for the past 8 months, she has been wearing only PJs. But a trip to Kohls took care of that. Ray's cleaned up the garage, I'm sure the patio isn't far behind.

Gia had her 2 month check up this past Wednesday. The doctor said she is looking good and is right at the 50% mark for her weight, 75% for her height. Mya was the same when she was this age. Gia is sleeping about 7 hours at least most nights and is in her crib, so she is coming along quite well.

We are hoping this week that Mya's appetite will pick up and she will be able to eat something by mouth. The sooner we can get that going, the sooner her weight will increase as well as her strength. I'll post again soon.
