Holding steady...

Ray and Mya went to Dana Farber today for a check-up. They took her weight and vitals. Her weight has dropped a little bit more (hovering just over 13.3 kilos) but her vitals are strong. Her white count is sloowly recovering and her hemoglobin is strong at 9.6. Her platelets are pretty low (31K), but not low enough for the doctors to insist that she get a boost for them (30K). They have us coming back next week. If at that time her weight hasn't increased and her platelet level hasn't come up then they will probably send us home with IV nutrition (which she was on during her hospital stay) and she will most likely get some platelets.

Her demeanor continues to surprise us. She is quick to smile and eager to play. Without knowing the details of her blood panel, you wouldn't think that she is struggling to recover.

Ray and I have our work cut out for us this week. We HAVE to get her weight up. So, we will start to push her on her formula feeds and try more with actual food. It feels like she is going to turn the corner any day....
