MRI results & fun

Mya had her MRI on Thursday. The scan went well and Mya recovered quickly, as usual. Dr. Chu called afterwards to discuss it. The pictures revealed that the tumors in her head looked the same. She said they are "stable". In cancer speak, that means that they haven't gotten any bigger, but they also haven't gotten any smaller. There don't appear to be any additional ones in her head (whew!). The tumors on her spine have changed, but the growth is small. These are the ones that the doctors are becoming more concerned with. They are talking about possibly injecting chemo shots into her spine to combat these, but this action could produce complications. The decision was made to continue to watch and see. We are staying with our current regiment of medications and we will see where we stand at the next MRI, scheduled for this coming July.

On Saturday, Gia's school had an event called, Passport to the World. The employees at the school created 5 different stations, each one a display of a different country. Belgium, Madagascar, England, Scotland, and New Zealand. The girls & I went to all the countries, trying different foods from the countries and learning about each of them. There was even a performance of dancers from New Zealand. They had shells around their feet that rattled when they stamped the floor and one of them had a huge feathered headress. It was very exotic! The girls were fascinated, they watched the whole show. We stayed for 2 hours.

Today, we are getting ready for Gia's birthday party next weekend. It's hard to believe that she is already 1!!! Mya is really excited about her party, birthdays are her thing. The best part for her is the birthday song, she loves to sing it. It is so sweet & cute!

Well, that's all for now. After Gia's party, we are going to start planning Mya's birthday party. Ray & I have decided to make her birthday quite the extravaganza! Pretty sure it's going to be the party of the year!! Yahoo, Mya's turning 5!!
