Zoo visit!

Mya started her 15 sessions of radiation last Thursday. She started steroids to help combat the swelling of the tumors on her spine as they are destroyed with the radiation. This medication makes it a lot more challenging managing her temperament. She did well with her first few treatments and seemed pretty good on Saturday morning. So, we wanted to do something special with the girls.

We were given free passes to Yorks Wild Kingdom, so off we went! We walked around (kids in the double stroller) and enjoyed all the animals. Mya really liked the zebras and monkeys, we really liked all the big cats. They even have a white tiger! We had something to eat and the kids were done. Not bad, we were there for about 2 hours; we'll take it!

Sunday was a quiet day, Mya seemed a little tired and didn't want to go with me for errands. We did take a walk around the block and went out to the playground behind our house. After that, she was ready to come in.

Today, we did another session. She did really well with it. I can't express how proud I am of my daughter. Knowing what was coming, but still going into the room with me bravely... Love her with all my heart!

The week will probably be very long, but we are hoping she will continue to handle it in stride. Hope everyone has a great week.
